3 Republican Presidents who used Cocaine

Thats right 3 GOP presidents used Cocaine and in all likelihood we have had at least 2 more presidents that used the white powder. Thats why I see no big deal about Barack Obama and his past Cocaine use use in fact I find his honesty very refreshing. I also was shocked that the hard core drug warrior Rudy Giuliani praised Obama and I wasn't so surprised that Romney condemned Barack for his Cocaine use. So lets give Mr. Romney a History lesson about Republican Presidents and Cocaine use. There has been much talk about our current president and his immediate predecessor used drugs.

Speculating whether Clinton or even Bush used Cocaine in the past really doesn't matter because many decades before they were even born there had already been at least 3 Cocaine users who were also Presidents. Ironically all three of them were GOP Presidents as a matter of fact one even died a Cocaine Addict.

GOP President Ulysses Grant took cocaine in his last years while writing his memoirs, on the advice of his publisher Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.

Not to be outdone GOP President William McKinley regularly used Cocaine while in office in fact he entertained at the White House with Mariani's Coca Wine. Furthermore McKinley not only praised it's use but he also endorsed the product.

GOP President William Howard Taft traveled with a throat specialist a Dr. Richardson who clearly used Cocaine to treat Tafts throat which had became hoarse after giving speeches.

Taft described the treatments of Dr. Richardson and others as "he blew me out" and speculated "I fancy these fellows put some cocaine in their treatment".

In addition to these three GOP Presidents Pope Leo XIII and countless others also regularly used Cocaine. It obviously never did any harm to Leo XIII who was oldest Pope in history living to the ripe old age of 93 years.

Pope Leo XIII was so enthusiatic about the cocaine-laced wine called Vin Mariani that he not only endorsed the popular product but he also awarded a gold medal to Mariani for relieving fatigue, lifting spirits, and giving people a sense of well being.

I personally think Barack Obama would make an excellent President and any fool who wants to disqualify this fine outstanding man from holding that office just because he admitted using Cocaine could learn alot by just opening up a history book every once in a while.

A century ago Popes and Presidents openly used Cocaine yet today that very same act could send you to prison unless you don't get caught.

Lemme tell you about it.

I have lived in...and for a number of years as part of...the most heavily drugged-out subculture in America.

Guaranteed.

For about 40 years.

The American-style music culture, jazz and latin music subdivisions thereof.

I am clean and sober since about 1983. A little wine once in a while and some daily coffee is all. From about 1964 until then I never drew a completely sober breath.

I've been there and I have watched literally hundreds of my brothers and sisters deal with the various drugs.

Cocaine?

Cold as ice.

Vicious.

I would rather be a heroin addict 100 times over than get strung out on blow.

Only amphetamines rival it in the sheerly vicious mindset it brings.

At least junkies can feel love when they are not in need of junk. And the high is GLORIOUS. That's why it is so dangerous.

Cocaine?

The ones who did not manage to get out from under it? Their lives are SHATTERED. Every one of them.

Cocaine?

The way it's used now?

Like walking on razors.

Bet on it.

No good for ANYTHING except making you so emotionally frigid that you cannot feel the decay it brings.

Fuggedaboudit.

Its a BAD drug.

None worse.

Please...do NOT glorify or excuse it.

no problem drugs are terrible i agree with you (0.00 / 0)

they cause alot of pain but so does the legal drug alcohol i just hate seeing this kids mostly minority kids get shipped off to prison for drugs that is what i don't understand at all
