I got my haircut and asked the barber if he had been watching the debates. He said he hadn't really, doesn't really follow politics anymore.

He said that he had voted for Bush in the past and resented that decision. He felt he was scammed. But, he felt "the Democrats" were not better because Ted Kennedy had an issue with some wind turbines in Nantucket. Thus, he felt they were all crooks, hypocrites, etc.

What point didn't come to me as clearly at the time was how odd it was to think in such terms. Kennedy did something he didn't approve of and is a Democrat, therefore Democrats are bad, therefore Obama is bad because he is a Democrat. It's silly logic.

This comes to mind because the person who make that picture felt like he was justified because "liberals" had made other insulting pictures. Like somehow if some jerk who calls himself a liberal does something offensive it therefore tarnishes all liberals and he is therefore justified in making this picture. Bizarre reasoning.
